Mixed+Flow+Pumps

Mixed flow pumps combine some of the characteristics of the volute and diffuser pumps together with some axial flow pump features. The head developed by this pump is produced partly by centrifugal force and partly by the lift of the impeller vanes on the liquid. The mixed flow pump shown in Figure has a single-inlet impeller. The flow enters the pump in an axial direction and leaves the pump in a direction somewhere between axial and radial.
