Would you ever purchase a car without taking a test drive? If not then why would you hire a speaker or instructor without first hearing them speak? How many times have you attended a “free” training session only to find out it was an elaborate sales pitch? It may be “free” but your time isn’t. How many times have you paid for a training seminar only to be put to sleep within the first 15 minutes? Some people just can’t keep your interest. How many times have you attended a training seminar where the instructor thought he/she was talking to NASA Systems Specialists and zoomed right over your head with terminology? Information is good, but you have to be able to speak to the audience so they can understand you.
Well here is a chance for you to “kick the tires” as it were. Barbara Smith (owner of Wastewater 101) will be speaking at the Indiana Water Environment Association’s Annual Conference. On Thursday, November 21, Barb will be discussing Clarifier Optimization at 10:20 a.m. and Digester Operation at 1:15 p.m. Both are 30 minute Technical sessions. Find out for yourself if Barb has relevant information, if she can deliver it in a humorous, yet instructive manner and if she is someone you want to be part of your training program.
The conference is held in Indianapolis at the Westin Hotel from November 20-22, 2013. You can get more information regarding the conference at www.indianawea.org
