We just completed another Certification Review Course at the Clay Township Regional Waste District’s Treatment Plant. The Clay Township Regional Waste District was kind enough to host the 2-day session (14 Technical Contact Hours), provide donuts in the morning and lunch to the attendees at a very low cost. Clay Township also provided a tour of their treatment facility (they have both a vertical loop reactor (VLR) and a “regular” oxidation ditch) on the second day for those who were interested. We had 12 students enroll from as far north as the Wabash area and as far south as Bloomington. Most attendees were studying for their Class I Municipal License, 1 person is studying for his Class B Industrial License and 1 person is studying for his Class III or IV License. We even had someone attend who was scheduled off the first day of class. There were also three (3) that’s right count them – 3 – Engineers attending the course and some were taking notes – I was also not attacked or sued (yet) either during or after the session. I’m not sure how much information they truly absorbed compared to the amount of information they adsorbed but I can tell you that no one fell asleep during the two days. Now that the class is over I am busy inundating the attendees with extra study material – quizzes, etc. I can’t wait to hear how they all do on their exams.
